What are the technical requirements to study English online?
For the virtual classroom:

How do I pay for my course?
You can pay by credit or debit card, bank transfer or PayPal.
Is there a joining fee?
No. You pay only for the lessons.
Can I take a trial lesson?
Yes. You can take a trial lesson in a group for only £1 and a one-on-one lesson with a 30% discount.
Will I get a certificate?
Yes, on your request. After completing any paid course you can get an electronic printable certificate. Free courses require a paid upgrade to receive a completion certificate.
How can I contact Link School Online?

What course materials will I get?
You will get access to the online materials specified within your course package.
Where are you based?
We are based in London. Our physical school is located at Link School of English, Ealing House, 33 Hanger Lane, London, W5 3HJ, UK.
When can I start?
You can join our courses with rolling enrollment at any time (if we have places available).
Some courses have closed specified dates – those courses you need to start and finish on the dates specified.
When do I need to pay for my course?
You need to pay the full course fee before you start the course.
How long in advance should I book my course?
You can book as early as you want. We strongly recommend you book as soon as you have decided to join our classes. We have a limited availability and places fill up quickly.
How do I know you are a good quality school?
We ensure high teaching standards through a strict recruitment process and verification of teachers’ qualifications. We work only with the best teachers.
Who are your teachers?
Our online English teachers must meet the same requirements as all teachers teaching at Link School of English in London and most of them teach in our Londo school as well. They hold a minimum CELTA or Trinity TESOL qualifications to teach English and a minimum bachelor’s degree. They go through a thorough recruitment process with interviews, verification of their diplomas, references and a DBS (police check).
How big are the course groups?
The maximum class size for a virtual classroom is 8.
What is the minimum age of students to join your courses?
The minimum age of students to join our online English courses is 16.
Can I reschedule my lessons?
Group lessons: 1 lesson re-schedule per month is allowed with a 48-hour notice. Upgrades with course suspension are available.
Private lessons: yes, one re-schedule per ten sessions is allowed, a minimum 48-hour notice is required. More flexible options are available with upgrades.
What types of courses do you offer?
We offer a range of online English courses in groups, individual lessons and self-study e-learning courses. The types of courses include: conversation classes, general English, IELTS exam preparation, FCE, CAE and CPE preparation, English for work and business English. We can also prepare on-demand training for companies and individual clients.
What are your teaching methods?
We use the communicative approach adapted for the e-learning environment. We use various methods to create interesting, interactive, motivating and effective English lessons.
Can I change the level of the class if it is too easy or too difficult?
Yes, if your teacher agrees with the level change.
Are English exam fees included in the course fees?
No. Exam fees are not included in the course fees.
Can I change my teacher?
If you booked private lessons, yes. If for any reason you are not completely happy, you can change the teacher.
If you booked a group course, if for any reason you are not happy with your lessons, please contact our Student Support not later than within 7 days from the time of the lesson you think went wrong. We will review the lesson and if the change of teacher is necessary we will replace the teacher.
What if I am not happy with my class?
If you are not happy with your class, please contact our Student Support as soon as possible and give us as much detail as possible about the reasons. We will review your complaint and if needed our Academic Manager will watch the lesson. You need to make a complaint in writing within 14 days from the time of the lesson you aren’t happy with.
Can I get a refund if I decide to cancel my remaining lessons?
You can cancel your lessons up to 14 days before your first class. After that, unfortunately not.
Can I change my class times or dates?
It depends on the type of class. You can re-schedule your individual lessons (limits apply). Unfortunately, you cannot change the times or dates of your group classes within your current registration. Your next registration can be for different times and days.
Can I switch to a different class?
No. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate switching to a different class until the end of your current booking. If you want to take a different course, you need to make a new booking.
I don’t speak any English yet. How am I going to learn?
Don’t worry. Our teachers are trained to teach complete beginners and have done it before.
How Do I Access My Course?
After making the payment you will receive a welcome email with a link to access your course. In the email click the ‘Login to your account’ link and set up your account. Save this email for future access.
